Pet's Story or Bio
This is Sweet Bailey, the picture was taken the week before she died of cancer on 5/19/19, just 8 weeks after the death of her "brother" a 14 yr. old Siamese and 1 1/2 yrs after my husband died. I hope the fact she has passed does not disqualify her.
I adopted her in 2008 @ 3 mnths from a backyard breeder. Some friends say I rescued her! . I have so much I want to tell you about this special dog but words are limited!. She was diagnosed with hip displasia at 6 mnths. Despite her limitations and several surgeries she was always happy, very social and caring hence she acquired the nickname of Sweet Bailey. She was a true ambassador for her breed bringing people together because of her friendly and sweet spirit. She weighed over 100lb yet was so gentle and kind to the tiny dogs who surrounded her at our daily Yappy Hour. But her greatest achievement was to transform little children who were initially terrified of large dogs but they became her closest friends!.
Bailey died just 3 days shy of her 11th birthday so we held a Celebration of Life for her. Over 20 people and their pets attended!. There would have been more people but as Snowbirds they were not available. I received gifts, cards and loving support for weeks afterwards. She will never be forgotten! We have owned 2 other Goldens over the years. Each one special in their own way!
