Save Our Setters – Setting a Higher Standard
Save Our Setters (SOS) is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit breed-specific rescue. Our organization was founded in Tennessee in 2003. We are fortunate to have fosters, adopters, transporters, and volunteers throughout the U.S.
Save Our Setters relies on donations and fundraising activities to fund its programs. We do not receive any state or federal funds, nor do we derive any benefits from the Irish Setter Club of America Rescue Fund or any other Breed Club funding.
Our dedicated volunteers donate thousands of hours every year to give each dog in our care a new lease on life.
With help of our volunteers and donors, Save Our Setters has achieved much over its 22 years, including:
- Rescued hundreds of Setters in need, often from desperate and urgent situations
- Medical care that has included heartworm treatments, surgeries for minor and serious injuries, preventatives, and even behavioral training
- Spaying/neutering of all rescues
- Vetting of all foster and adopter applicants prior to placing any dog in their home
- Transport for adopted dogs to their forever home
- Spreading the word of the importance of dog rescue
