Your Dog's Story or Bio
Porter was saved from a pet shop that bought and sold from puppy mills. He was about 4 months old and didn't even seem to know how to walk. He was in a 3×4 box with 2 of his siblings. Rescuing Porter was the best thing that happened to us, for he ended up being my best friend and greatest supporter as I am battling to prolong my life from metastatic breast cancer. He was always at my side, snuggling, making us laugh, and letting me cry on him. He was so smart and stubborn as an Irish Setter should be! Ironically, last summer he was diagnosed with liver cancer. He had surgery and we thought he was better. We started him on chemo, but not long afterwards we found out he had bone cancer too. It's ironic because those 2 places are where my breast cancer spread to and was found in June last year. I had also found out it was in my brain a couple months later. Our boy tried so hard to fight along side me but he eventually just got too tired and we let him go to God. I see this picture of him and in my minds eye, I see him in all his regal glory, sitting next to his maker. His personality, disposition and loving soul were such a presence that nothing else can replace.
