Save A Dog Rescue of Indiana (SAD), is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501c3 organization, which runs entirely by donations. We are dedicated to the never-ending, sometimes overwhelming, task of saving the lives of abused, abandoned, dogs who have lost their homes through no fault of their own. Many of our dogs are rescued from local high-kill shelters, and we rescue dogs from Asia who are subject to torture and slaughter for their meat.
- SAD provides fostering, veterinary care, and behavioral training so they can be rehomed as companion animals
- Organizes transports to move dogs out of high-kill areas.
- Underwrites costly medical expenditures for sick and injured dogs
Why this fundraiser is so important:
We are in the process of building a small shelter "Hanna's House" which is 75% completed. Hanna's House will house all dogs on a temporary basis until a foster family can be found. This will enable us to keep intake open when we do not have a foster home in place.
This year we also began rescuing from China, South Korea, and Thailand. 11 dogs have arrived to date. These dogs are from the Dog Meat Trade where they are tortured for days before they kill them. They fly into Chicago O'Hare airport and of course, transportation costs are high.
Our goal is to ensure these fine dogs get healthy, never again face life in a dangerous situation, and instead live in a safe, loving, and secure home for the rest of their lives.
