Apollo was, quite simply, the love of my life. I saw a quote on a t-shirt once in Seattle that said, "It's not where you walk, it's who walks with you." I am so grateful for my many walks with Apollo over the past 9 years. We walked along the Oregon Coast; through downtown Portland; in Gifford-Pinchot National Forest; along the South Fork Walla Walla River in Eastern Washington; laps around Steilacoom dog park. One of my favorite memories is seeing him run through the grass along Mill Creek, a long-awaited move to the country after too many years of apartment living. He was finally free, without leash or boundaries. Apollo loved cheese, chasing deer and cars, deciphering scents, and belly rubs. He gave me life when I was feeling lifeless. I loved the smell of his paws, the sound of his breathing. It's Who. Walks. With. You.
