I inherited my love for horses from my Mom. It is a gift I will always treasure. I am so blessed and grateful that my daughter, now 17, has also inherited this true love and passion for horses. This past Saturday, we saw the results of the most beautiful winter day after a night of snowfall. Mackenzie and I spontaneously embraced the opportunity to take pictures. This particular shot touched my heart and was a favorite of friends and family. One childhood friend, who also has 2 daughters with a deep love of horses, offered the following insight that humbled me. He wrote "often children smile for pictures and that's all it is..a smile. But when children smile from their heart and soul, the photo captures their true Joy. Being around her horses brings out the joy and love that she couldn't possibly hide even if she tried." He was able express in words what I couldn't begin to fully understand or articulate. Our relationships with our family, friends and pets are the true blessings along this journey of life.
