Was this pet adopted from Responsible Pet Care?Yes
Your Pet's Story or BioZoey came to RPC as a pregnant stray who'd been living under a shed. She also had a hip injury from having been hit by a car. My sister fostered Zoey (then "Mama Kitty") with her kittens, and this kitty was a great mom. My sister couldn't keep her though, and she didn't want Mama going back to the shelter after all her babies got homes. So she appealed to our mom, positing that no one would want a cat with a bad hip. It worked: Mom adopted Zoey.
When I moved back home, Zoey and I became fast friends. However, we became BEST friends after the first time I got sick. Her mothering instincts came out, and she stayed by my side until I was better. She's still my shadow, hanging out wherever I am, sleeping with me, occupying the bathroom rug while I shower or brush my teeth, and lying on top of any paperwork I attempt to complete. She also entertains the whole family with her antics! She'll hide behind a door and then pounce on our Jack Russel mix (he loves having a playmate). She'll also chase him out of my room if he's getting into mischief. If I enter our spare room, she'll "hide" under the bed until I sit on the carpet, then run at me with a loving head-butt. Her hip does not slow her down.
I feel very lucky that Mom adopted Zoey, and even luckier that Zoey adopted me.
