Your Pet's Story or Bio
We met Emma at the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland in December 2017. She had been with the shelter for just a couple days, but had made the long journey to Maine from Virginia. She was visibly scared, anxious, and stressed out, and we knew we wanted to give her a forever home. Once we got her home, Emma knew she wanted snuggles, but was still too anxious to fully ask for them. Over the course of the next two years, she grew to trust humans again, or maybe for the very first time. Now Emma is the snuggliest kitty you’d ever meet! It took time and patience for both Emma and her humans, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. From being scared and swatting at our feet as we walked by, to feeling fully relaxed and safe while her child humans pet her belly - it has really been a journey of love, affection, and growth for us all.
