Your Pet's Story or Bio
Frankie came into my life as a rescue from the local non profit Speak for the Unspoken. This rescue focuses on pairing special needs dogs with the special homes they deserve. She was a three-legged pitty mix with epilepsy who had bounced around shelters and rescues before; to say the odds were stacked against her is an understatement. She changed my life early in my career as a new vet student feeling lost in the world, and ended up making a huge difference. Since adopting her, she has brought joy to countless people, helped foster many other homeless animals, and volunteers at student events. With a mom who is now a shelter veterinarian, she is often obligated to open our home to other animals, and does so with no complaints. She also enjoys hiking, trying new breweries, and licking the inside of peoples noses. Frankie is a perfect ambassador for not only the breed, but for all rescue animals around Columbus and I couldn’t imagine life without her.
