Kirby is a 16-year-old dachshund who likes food, treats, escaping through the fence, and long walks on the beach. He’s obsessed with his mom and thinks the Other Human is okay, too. Kirby had to have his eyes surgically removed for medical reasons in 2022, which is not quite as horrifying as it sounds. He bounced back quickly and has been living his very best life ever since. This photo was taken at Santa Rosa Beach in the spring of 2023. Kirby, who is somehow cuter without eyes, has been described as “majestic” and “very beautiful” by many passersby who meet him.
