From the moment I saw my new family, I knew it was game over. Being the spunky ham-hock I am certainly has them wrapped around my little mud-covered toes 24/7. My zoomies are fast and my cuddles are furious. There’s no stopping me when it comes to tug-o-war with my siblings (unless I hear the crinkle of the cheese bag). I demand windows down in the car, of course; you won’t find a better show than watching my jowls of fury being wind-blown in the rear-view mirror. I will always patiently await to shake your hand in return for an after-meal carrot. My human grandparents may love me more than their actual children, as grandparents do. I’m quite the social butterfly at the dog park (with all the humans); I circle around to the same people once I figure out who gives the best butt scratches. Once it’s bed-time, you can find me waiting for you to pick me up into bed on the count of 3. After that, it’s a Gus sandwich between mom and dad as I tuck my pumpkin head into your arms, looks into your eyes, and gently fall asleep with my tongue out for all the world to see. If ever there were a soul dog, my humans have found it in me.
