My name is Pharrell. I was once a tough, street savvy survivor. An aloof feral guy, battle scarred, and full of swagger, I didn’t need anyone. Love? Purrs? No thx! All that changed when I discovered cat-topia, a home with a fresh cat nip garden and cat loving humans. I found my home and my own special brew of fresh catnip.

I didn’t make it easy for the humans who had to earn my trust. It took a while. They worked hard to show me the love. They didn’t judge me for my rough looks and my poor manners (eating then running). They saw and accepted me just as I was. They saw my inner kitten. Their persistence established my trust. I allowed them to adopt me. I’m now all in for my new family. I sit on their laps, follow them around and show them all the love I had repressed for so long. I was once a feral guy, now I am a guy named PHARRELL. I am HAPPY (cue song by my namesake).

As I nurse my catnip and ponder my purrrrfect life, I understand that no cat (or person) is an island. Even the toughest of us are better with love and support.
