As one of her caretakers back at the shelter, Shelby was one of the most difficult dogs I've ever had to work with. She was first terrified, then shut down, apathetic to even those she knew for MONTHS. It was worrying and disheartening but we pressed on, forcing pets, playing the only game she knew: fetch, buying her more time, looking for a way in. Then one day her eyes looked brighter, her tail wagged the tiniest bit, she hopped up to say hello, she rubbed against you. Heart opening within mere days before her new family came and asked to meet her, she was finally ready. I am so incredibly proud of how far Shelby's come, and so incredibly grateful to the family who took the leap of faith with her. One of my top favorite adoption stories; I'm very glad she's continuing to blossom 🪷♥️

Shelby is an awesome dog, who’s very playful and surprisingly gentle. She loves to play with her tennis ball and her frisbee and we’ve nicknamed her “The Worlds Most Serious Dog” because she will stare at you with her blue eyes ,when you’re talking to her like she’s understanding everything you say!! What a great dog.
