The Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. Paws For The Cause Pet Photo Contest (the “Contest”) will begin on or about May 1st, 2016 at 8:00 AM EST and will end on or about May 31st, 2016 at 9:00 PM EST (the “Contest Period”).

By participating in the Contest, each entrant unconditionally accepts and agrees to comply with and abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. (“RBARI” or “Sponsor”), which shall be final and binding in all respects. Any photograph that includes content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent, or obscene, as determined by the staff of RBARI in their sole discretion, will be removed from the Contest.

Photos of all pets are accepted.

All photos must be digitally uploaded. We cannot accept hard copies.

Your pet need not be a shelter pet to apply.

You may enter as many photos as you wish.

All photos must be uploaded; we cannot accept printed photos. 

Photographs must either feature pets owned by the entrant, OR the entrant must have permission from the pet's owner to submit their pet's image.

As set forth more fully herein, once entered, photos become the property of RBARI to be used for promotional and marketing purposes.

The Submissions Period starts on May 1st, 2016 at 8:00 AM EST and ends on May 31st, 2016 at 9:00 PM EST.


The Voting Period starts on May 1st, 2016 at 8:00 AM EST and ends May 31st, 2016 at 9:00 PM EST.

The Contest is void where prohibited.

To enter the Contest, upload a photo of a pet to the Contest web site, http://gogophotocontest.com/RBARI (the “Website”), during the Submissions Period. All entries must be made via the Website.

No fee or donation is required to enter the Contest, though an optional donation towards the care of our animals is greatly appreciated. A donation will not improve your chance of winning. All donations to RBARI are tax-deductible by law. Please save your credit card receipts for your tax records. The Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

To vote, visit the Website, submit a donation, and follow the online instructions. Each $1 donation counts as one (1) vote. All donations from voting are non-refundable. Votes and donations must be made via the Website. Contest-related payments online are made through a safe, secure, and encrypted site.

The photograph with the most votes from each of the three (3) categories (Favorite Furbaby, Goofiest Pet, Best Family Photo) at the end of the Contest Period will win a choice of Top Prize. One Mini-Contest Prize will be awarded for the single photo with the most votes received overall during the week of May 15th, 2016, at 8:00 PM – May 22nd, 2016, at 8:00 PM.

Proceeds from this Contest will go to caring for the homeless and neglected pets in our care until they find their forever home. We encourage you to e-mail, publicize and post on social media the Contest link to family and friends and encourage them to vote for your favorite entrant's photo.

Vote as often as you like.

Donations submitted via other means (snail mail, in-person, or the RBARI website, etc.) will be accepted as donations. Photo entries submitted via other means (snail mail, in-person, or the RBARI website, etc.) will not be entered in the Contest and will not be returned to sender.

Winners will be determined by public voting. The entrant(s) from each of the three (3) Contest categories with the most votes at the end of the Voting Period on May 31st, 2016 at 9:00 PM EST will be the Top Prize winner of that category.

Winners will be notified by e-mail by June 7, 2016, and will be given instructions on how to claim their prize. Odds of winning depend on the number of votes each photograph submission receives. 
No transfer, substitution or cash equivalent for a prize is allowed, except at RBARI’s sole discretion. All details and other restrictions on the prize(s) not specified in these Official Rules will be determined by RBARI in its sole discretion.

When you enter the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. Paws For The Cause Photo Contest, you warrant that the photograph submitted is original, that you are the sole owner and copyright holder of that photograph, and that you have not granted exclusive rights of that photograph to any other person or entity. You also warrant that the photograph does not invade the right of privacy of any individual; does not infringe any trademark, trade name, trade secret, intellectual property right, or other common law or statutory right; nor does it contain any material that otherwise violates any criminal prohibition or the personal or proprietary rights of any person or entity.

RBARI makes no warranties, and hereby disclaims any and all warranties, express or implied, concerning any prize furnished in connection with the Contest. WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING, SUCH PRIZES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND RBARI HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL SUCH WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND/OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

By participating in the Contest, you irrevocably grant RBARI, its parent, subsidiaries and affiliates, and each entity’s employees, officers, directors and agents (all such entities and individuals collectively referred to herein as the “Promotion Entities”) the nonexclusive right and permission to use, modify, adapt, reproduce, publish, and distribute any photograph submitted in connection with the Contest, or any portion thereof, throughout the world, in any and all media, and by any kind of mechanical or electronic or any other method or device of reproduction, publication, and distribution now known or later developed, without notification or payment, in connection with RBARI’s promotional efforts, and all entrants hereby release the Promotion Entities from any liability with respect thereto. The Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. agrees that it will never sell such photographs or rights in the photographs to any other individual or entity. 



Acceptance of a prize constitutes winner’s (or any minor winner’s parent or legal guardian) permission for the Promotion Entities to use winner’s name, photograph, likeness, voice, biographical information, statements and address (city and state) for advertising and/or publicity purposes worldwide and in all forms of media now known or hereafter developed, in perpetuity, without further compensation. Entrants (and any minor entrant’s parent or legal guardian) agree that the Promotion Entities shall not be responsible or liable for, and are hereby released from, any and all costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind, including, without limitation, death and bodily injury, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, to participation in the Contest or any Contest-related activity, or from entrants’ acceptance, receipt, possession and/or use or misuse of any prize, and (B) have not made any warranty, representation or guarantee express or implied, in fact or in law, with respect to any prize, including, without limitation, to such prize’s quality or fitness for a particular purpose. RBARI assumes no responsibility for any damage to an entrant’s, or any other person’s, computer system which is occasioned by accessing the Website or otherwise participating in the Contest, or for any computer system, phone line, hardware, software or program malfunctions, or other errors, failures, delayed computer transmissions or network connections that are human or technical in nature. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, RBARI is not responsible for incomplete, illegible, misdirected, misprinted, late, lost, damaged, stolen, or postage-due prize notifications; or for lost, interrupted, inaccessible or unavailable networks, servers, satellites, Internet service providers, websites, or other connections; or for miscommunications, failed, jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected computer, telephone or cable transmissions; or for any technical malfunctions, failures, difficulties or other errors of any kind or nature; or for the incorrect or inaccurate capture of information, or the failure to capture any information. RBARI reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who is found to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or the Website, to be acting in violation of these Official Rules, or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with the intent to disrupt or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest, or to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person, and RBARI reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. No mechanically reproduced, illegible, incomplete, forged, software-generated or other automated multiple entries will be accepted. RBARI reserves the right to modify, extend, suspend, or terminate the Contest if it determines, in its sole discretion, that the Contest is technically impaired or corrupted or that fraud or technical problems, failures or malfunctions or other causes beyond RBARI’s control have destroyed or severely undermined or to any degree impaired the integrity, administration, security, proper play and/or feasibility of the Contest as contemplated herein. In the event an insufficient number of eligible entries are received and/or RBARI is prevented from awarding prizes or continuing with the Contest as contemplated herein by any event beyond its control, including but not limited to fire, flood, natural or man-made epidemic of health of other means, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, terrorist threat or activity, war (declared or undeclared) or any federal state or local government law, order, or regulation, public health crisis, order of any court or jurisdiction, or other cause not reasonably within RBARI’s control (each a “Force Majeure” event or occurrence), then subject to any governmental approval which may be required, RBARI shall have the right to modify, suspend, extend or terminate the Contest. If the Contest is terminated before the designated end date, RBARI may (if possible) select the winner based on the number of non-suspect votes received or in a random drawing from all eligible, non-suspect entries received as of the date of the event giving rise to the termination. Inclusion in such drawing shall be each entrant’s sole and exclusive remedy under such circumstances. Only the type and quantity of prizes described in these Official Rules and official Contest-related materials will be awarded. These Official Rules cannot be modified or amended in any way except in a written document issued in accordance with law by a duly authorized representative of RBARI. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein.
