Assistance Dogs of Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and is a fully accredited member of Assistance Dogs International. ADH provides Assistance Dogs to children and adults with disabilities, giving them the freedom and confidence to live a more independent life. ADH place Assistance Dogs and provides lifetime follow-up services free of charge.
ADH Community Outreach Programs benefit thousands of people in Hawaii with special needs each year through a variety of programs including the Therapy Dog Program for hospitals, nursing homes and homeless shelters, and the Ohana Program for groups like Ka Lima O Maui and special education classes.
ADH is a leader in medical scent detection research, including COVID-19 scent detection, and partners with local hospitals, laboratories and research scientists world-wide to teach dogs to detect life-threatening medical conditions.
