Each of our rescue dogs joined our family at a different stage of life. Ruby came from Town Lake shelter as a 2 year old with kennel cough. Tucked back in a pen far off the beaten path, her chocolate eyes, pink nose, and purple tongue immediately won me over. Our cow dog, Finnegan, became ours at the ripe old age of 12 weeks. His lovable face was first seen on the Town Lake website, but then quickly disappeared, and we feared he'd been snatched up by a lucky adopter. Lo and behold, he appeared on the APA site a few days later, and my husband moved heaven and earth to make him ours. Finally, the distinguished Hankey Bannister, 12 years, joined our family just months ago. Another APA pup, our family is grateful to have the opportunity to partake in this sweet boy's golden years. Dogs = love!
