Prairie’s Edge Humane Society takes in homeless cats and dogs and prepares them for adoption. All animals are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for common diseases as well as provided with all medical care required.

Prairie’s Edge Humane Society reaches out to the community to provide education and resources for responsible pet ownership and make every attempt to provide resources to pet owners to resolve issues in hopes family pets will be able to stay with their family.

Animals come to Prairie’s Edge due to no fault of their own, many pets are obtained without proper knowledge of a specific type or breed of animal resulting in the owner not being fully prepared to fulfill their obligation of pet ownership. Other animals come to Prairie’s Edge because they become lost or separated from their owners, while still others are simply not able to remain in heir home to changes in their home environment such as financial hardships, illness or death of an owner, or due to owners moving and not being able to take the animal with them.
