Pet’s rescue story in 500 words or less
Bisquit, 14, came to the SPCA in January after his former family could no longer care for him or his brother, Dude. He needed lots of medical care for skin and ear infections, as well as dental care. While the amazing vet and techs at the SPCA got him taken care of medically, I decided that he and Dude should live with me while they healed.
Dude ended up going home with another wonderful family who loved him dearly before he passed away. I had no intention of keeping Bisquit - my goal was to love him and get him ready for adoption, but he had other plans.
Bisquit has become my shadow and goes quite literally everywhere with me. He even sits in a stroller while I'm at the gym and follows me from station to station. He attends business meetings and events and he accompanies me to work every single day.
A few weeks ago, my other senior schnauzer, Heidi, passed away. Bisquit has very quickly filled a Heidi-sized hole in my heart. Although he is tiny (7lbs), his personality is huge and he would make a great poster pup for adopting a senior dog.
