Pet’s rescue story in 500 words or less
Sid came to Touch of Grey Rescue about a year ago approximately 12 yrs young, weighing only 8 lbs, hairless, a golfball sized tumor on his belly, blind, and missing his entire bottom jaw and most of his teeth. This poor boy was dumped at the shelter as a stray. As soon as I saw his picture posted on the ToG Facebook page I knew I had to be his foster mom. Did was named by Dr. Kehoe at his first vet appointment after the Ice Age Franchise’s sloth. In just 3 months time with me, not only did he win my heart and the heart of all who met him, but he grew in long hair, had his belly tumor (party nipple) removed, had the rest of his teeth pulled, and he gained 5 lbs. He is the happiest, friskiest, biggest lover I’ve ever had. His nickname is Velcro because he loves to be held, wears his t-shirts proudly, and loves his other fur-siblings. They say that saving one dog will not save the world, but surely to that one dog, the world will change forever. Adopting a rescue dog can be challenging but either patience, love, and understanding, you will find a bond undeniably worth everything you put into it. Senior rescue dogs are the best ever! They will win my heart for as long as I shall live!
