Pet’s rescue story in 500 words or less
Molly is a gem! Almost 7 years ago I got a text saying a bulldog needed a home, that night a friend and I drove 3 hours to pick her up and bring her home. We were told she bit a 2 year old so needed a new home. That was not the case at all, upon further investigating to get Molly’s records it turns out Molly had been here there and everywhere. She had been bred too many times, was sold to someone after and spent the next 2 years going from home to home to home. We were told she doesn’t get along with other animals, gets frightened, and gets aggressive fast and unwarranted. When we got Molly she didn’t know what grass was, so we are thinking concrete kennel and maybe apartment dog after? Molly came to live with us and our 2 miniature dachshunds who she took under her paw as her own puppies, even though they were senior dogs much older than her! In Sept of 2022 Molly was diagnosed with cancer on her front paw, because of this she had surgery that removed the tumor and one of her toes to help get good margins. Thankfully we got the results we hoped that we had clean margins and she was cancer free after surgery! Sadly though Molly just got diagnosed with cancerous tumors in her spleen and heart that are not operatable so we know our time with her is limited but every day and minute we have left with her we shall spoil and treasure her! At almost 12 years old, she is still going despite age and cancer. We love Molly and think she is the ultimate rescue dog! She certainly rescued us!
