How Much Is The Entry Fee?
There is NO fee to enter. All proceeds from votes will go directly to supporting the Point Defiance Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers (PDAAZK) with conservation efforts and professional development.
How Many Photos Can I Enter?
You can enter as many as you'd like!
What are the eligibility requirements?
Photos of cats, dogs, horses, small mammals, reptiles, fish, amphibians, invertebrates and birds are accepted.
Pet owners do NOT have to be staff/volunteer at Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium to be eligible to enter the contest.
Photos may contain more than one pet.
Photos must feature pets owned by the photographer OR the entrant must have permission to submit the photo.
Once entered, photos become the property of PDAAZK and may be used for print and marketing purposes.
Can I enter professional photos of my pet?
Yes, but you MUST obtain permission from the photographer to enter the photo in the contest.
How do I vote for a pet's picture?
Votes are $1 each. You can also vote for your own pet's photo (and as many times as you and your friends and family want!).
When does voting close?
Votes for photo entries must be submitted by 8:00:00 PM (Pacific Time) on Monday, April 1, 2024*
*The host website’s server will be solely responsible for determining the end time for the online voting portion of the contest. Remember that your clock may differ slightly from the clock that determines the end time.
How do I know if I won?
The winners in each category will be announced via email and on the PDAAZK Facebook page. You can also regularly check the leaderboards to see your pet’s vote tally.
