June 29 at 5 p.m. - Big $5 at 5 Challenge!
It's your last chance to earn FREE votes before the 2019 AWLA calendar event ends at 8 p.m. on June 30.  This Friday, June 29, at 5 p.m., we will be offering our final Double Down Challenge and doubling all new votes that come in after 5 p.m., up to 5,000 votes total.  There is a limit of 500 doubled votes per voter, but multiple voters can vote for the same animal.  We anticipate that the doubled votes in this final Double Down Challenge will go quickly, so make your votes early to make sure they are doubled!

June 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. - In Paw-son Voting at Lena's Wood-Fired Grill and Tap
Our In Paw-son Challenge opportunity at Lena's Wood-Fired Grill and Tap will help your pet to win more votes while enjoying some delicious dining.  All calendar contestants are invited to decorate a "voting box" that will be displayed during the event, and Lena's patrons will get a free ticket with their meal to vote for their favorites.  Plus, tickets will be on sale on-site 2-for-$1, and you can purchase them at the event to help your pet fill his or her box.

Leashed dogs and cats in carriers are welcome to attend and dine on the Lena's patio (space permitting) to meet attendees and shake paws, but they are NOT required to attend.  And best of all, Lena's is donating 20% of the evening's proceeds to the AWLA, so even if you don't have a calendar favorite, you can still wine, dine and support Alexandria's Animals; just make sure you provide your server with the coupon that says you're dining for Alexandria's Animals.  Whether you're winning votes or just enjoying a nice night out, we look forward to seeing you at Lena's!

Saturday, June 16, a 8 a.m. through Sunday, June 17, at 8 p.m. - Now and Then Calendar Challenge
One of the best things about being a pet owner is seeing your animal companion grow and change during their time with you, and we want to see that change!  This weekend, comment on our "Now and Then Calendar Challenge" blog post with a picture of your pet when you first adopted them and another today, then share your comments with friends and family.  The five posts with the most replies by Sunday at 8 p.m. will receive additional votes.

Wednesday, June 13, at noon - Double Down Wednesday 
This Wednesday, June 13, at noon, we will be offering our next Double Down Challenge!  We will be doubling all new votes that come in after noon, up to 1,500 votes total.  There is a limit of 150 doubled votes per voter, but multiple voters can vote for the same animal.  We anticipate our Double Down Wednesday doubled votes will go quickly, so make your votes early to make sure they are doubled!

June 9 at 8 a.m. to June 10 at 8 p.m. - "Furry Favorite" Video Challenge
In response to our 8 a.m. Facebook post on June 9, share your favorite video of your animal companion.  Whether it's your old dog's new trick, your cat's favorite hiding spot, your ninja bunny in action or your lizard's funny sleeping habits, we want to see it.  Share your video as a response to our post and share share share, because the most-liked videos will receive additional points.
