Your Pet's Story or BioMarla was rescued by a compassionate trio comprised of a local enforcement official, a local veterinarian, and rescue group volunteers. Due to Marla’s left eye requiring medical attention and other unsatisfactory living conditions, the property owner surrendered all the dogs. Marla was transported to a local animal hospital where her left eye was surgically removed, and the eye socket closed with sutures. Marla then began her freedom journey to the Washington DC-area and was greeted by more warm-hearted rescue group volunteers. On December 23, 2011, her journey continued south to Fredericksburg Virginia, where Marla was fostered and adopted by her Forever Family. On December 26, 2011, Marla visited her veterinarian for suture removal, checkup, required vaccinations, and spaying. In 2014, due to infection, sadly, Marla lost sight in her right eye. Marla’s medical team consists of doctors and staff members at Ferry Farm Animal Clinic, Fredericksburg, Virginia; The Regional Veterinary Referral Center, Springfield, Virginia; and VetVision, Fairfax, Virginia. Marla is a standard poodle, the largest-sized poodle. She is a silver and white parti poodle, having a white base coat and a secondary color. Groomed by Sandy, Marla won “Best Groomed” title at the 2013 Fun Dog Show at Old Town Alexandria Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. Each summer, Marla volunteers her time, listening while children practice their reading skills. Marla enjoys outings with her brothers, Hot Cocoa and Asa, and sister, Rita. She enjoys walking at John Lee Pratt Park, Falmouth Virginia, and strolling through Historic Downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia. Marla also shares her home with kitty cats, Boots and Tiggy.
