Pet's Story or Bio
Miska was my buddy. Rescued in Wisconsin at a year old, I brought him home to live with 2 other huskies. It was love at first sight for all 3 dogs. Miska was afraid of most people. He wanted to be near them but didn’t want to be touched or petted, except by a very select few. He would lie under the piano during music lessons but then scamper away when students were drawn to his beautiful face. We learned to give Miska attention without touching and I learned how to nurture shy dogs.
Miska loved the company of dogs. When we took in our first foster dog, it was Miska who’s quiet acceptance helped her keep calm and relax. Without Miska’s help, I couldn’t have been as successful with the many fosters who we welcomed this past year.
