McGrady, the black tri-colored Aussie, is deaf. Sydney, the other Aussie, is a natural on the hiking trails. People may not give any thought to there being a "good hiking dog". However, when you're hiking steep or slick mountain trails that require all dogs to be leashed as we do, having a dog who just "knows" when to stop on a hill, has no qualms about jumping on rocks or crossing creeks & who enjoys it all the while---well that's invaluable. McGrady is one smart boy & quickly started following Sydney's lead. Sydney's ears allow McGrady to full enjoy his own love of hiking. McGrady loves to "Water Lounge" in a river or stream during our hikes. Wanting to be sure that I've given these guys as much exercise as possible and wanting to capture their spirit and beauty has lead me out hiking to places I'd never otherwise have gone and shown me fabulous places I'd never otherwise have seen. People are always amazed that I can carry a camera and hike with 2 dogs on 1 double lead. They are excellent AmbassaDogs for rescue and shelter dogs! Life is truly Better Together for all of us!
