This photo is celebrating Rome's new life. I wanted to give him a birthday party since he was in a bad situation when he turned one several months ago. He was rescued by Lake Charles Pit Bull Rescue after the local shelter found him under a pile of leaves trying to stay warm in 17° weather. He had no hair due to mange and covered in sores. Once they got him to the rescue he was so scared of everybody and everything he wouldn't even walk. He had to be carried outside to even go potty. Slowly over the last few months he is starting to trust again, gain his confidence and his hair is growing back. It is amazing to see him improve everyday and enjoy all the little things that he had never experienced before (like laying on a couch).
