How does this photo represent the theme – Life is Better Together?
Our precious boy, Jack, (on the right) passed away on January 30th of this year at the age of 13. His 7-year-old sister, Jeanie (on the right, obviously), has missed him dearly, as we all have. She has not been herself since his death. Jack suffered from Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome, or "doggie Alzhiemer's". It was so hard for our family to see our poor Jack, a spry and stubborn terrier mix, slowly lose himself... first his eyesight, then bladder control and finally, his mind. Even though Jack was the alpha dog, Jeanie loved him and followed him everywhere. When Jack began to lose his sight, the roles were reversed and he followed her. This picture was taken before he had no idea where he was or what was going on around him. At this point, he couldn't see very well, but he enjoyed being with Jeanie outside. This was a good day (and a windy day...). Our Jeanie is a certified therapy dog, so she stays pretty busy. But if she could speak, I'm sure she would tell you that she misses him and that life is definately better together.
