How does this photo represent the theme – Life is Better Together?I work at the Richmond SPCA on the animal care team, and that's how I fell in love with Dill, aka Dill Pickle. He had been rescued by a Good Samaritan who found him running in a junkyard, and according to our veterinarian, he is 20 years old, making Dill the eldest dachshund she has seen in more than two decades of practice. When he came into our care, Dill was very sick with renal disease, but as he began to recover, we were all amazed by his energy and personality.
I was able to adopt him because of the Richmond SPCA's "Angel Pet" program that encourages adoption of pets with chronic conditions by providing adopters like me the opportunity to purchase prescription foods and medications at affordable costs. Together with the wonderful veterinarians at the Clinic for Compassionate Care, I'm able to continue managing Dill's chronic urinary condition and give him the loving home he deserves where he's living out his golden years.
