Violet was found wondering the streets with a broken leg, heart worms, hepatozoonosis (a debilitating tick disease), spinal arthritis, and weighing all of 45 pounds. Humans just walked right on past her until... her fate was sealed. Big Fluffy Dog Rescue stepped in to save this girl. They were not even sure she was going to make it, but were willing to give everything it would take. There are not many rescues who would choose to throw that much money at such a seemingly lost cause, but one look in those deeply soulful eyes and everyone knew she was worth it. I was fostering Violet for BFDR when we adopted our new puppy Mud. He naturally used her as a surrogate mother for the first month, loving all of her big fluffiness. He knew how big that grateful heart was. Violet is living a large and beautiful life in Connecticut while pushing 90 pounds these days. Mud is a spoiled rotten 6 month old mess in Tennessee. I know if she walked in and parked it on the floor, Mud would curl right in.
