How does this photo represent the theme – Life is Better Together?I volunteer at a rescue called Friends of the Animals in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I started off and continue, along with a few other self taught photographers, to take photos of the dogs that we pull from our local animal shelter and at the adoption events that we hold. It is extremely rewarding and I love doing it. Everyone knows that a picture is worth a thousand words. For a shelter pet, it can be that pet's saving grace and best shot at a forever home. Although our rescue holds the adoption events, we allow for two other rescues to also attend. By our groups working together, we have been very successful. The dog in my picture, named Puck, was picked up by animal control and brought to our local animal shelter. He was one of the lucky ones and was fostered by Morgan Comeaux, a volunteer with Companion Animal Alliance. She attended one of our adoption events with Puck and I was lucky enough to snap the picture of one of the coolest dogs ever. Puck's foster mom fell in love with him and ended up adopting him herself. He and so many other shelter animals were able to be saved by the cooperation of the many rescue groups in our area and as in all things, it truly takes a village. Even though we are different rescues, we all have the same goal and I am honored to have met and worked with so many wonderfully dedicated people!
