From what organization or individual was your pet adopted/rescued/purchasedThe Goathouse Refuge, Pittsboro, NC
How does this photo represent the theme – Life is Better Together? This love couple consists of the two of the permanent residents at the Goathouse Refuge, Francesca (feral Maine Coon mix) and Baron (very shy Blue mix). There are 200+ kitties at the refuge and about 50-60 of them are non-adoptable because of temperament or other issues (and many came from high kill shelters where they had zero chance of surviving), but they are all very well cared for and they especially enjoy the outdoor fenced area. The ferals often mix with the friendlies, but some of them have formed special bonds with each other, such as this cute couple who love to rub on to each other and give kitty kisses. Many of the ferals, just like Francesca and Baron (but also Oscar, our 3-legged, 1-eyed feral alpha male and his 'Sopranos'), form friendships for life, eat and sleep together, and mourn when one of them passes. They no longer have to struggle to survive, but even at the Goathouse, they still represent 'the power of together'.
