How does this photo represent the theme – Life is Better Together? It’s amazing what “The Power of Together” can accomplish to help an animal in distress! For Barbra, it saved the life of both her and her kittens.
Barbra was found hanging, tangled in barbed wire by a couple members of the community. When they approached her to help, they were surprised to find a litter of three young kittens nearby. It appeared that the stuck cat was a mama with a family, and they all needed help! The finders gently untangled the mother cat from the wire, scooped up the three little kittens, and rushed them all to Animal Allies. The medical team there went straight to work, feeding the kittens and dressing Barbra’s wound.
A foster mom – a shy, gentle mother cat who had recently given birth - was found for the three kittens to allow Barbra time to heal without the stress of caring for her little ones. The foster cat treated Barbra’s babies as if they were her own and Barbra was able to stay at the shelter for specialized wound care.
When the kittens were ready, they returned to the shelter to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and adopted! In just a few short weeks, with the touch of many caring hands, all four lives were saved and all now are happy and healthy in their new homes.
