How does this photo represent the theme – Life is Better Together? The dog on the left is Chloe. I adopted her first. I realized she had very special talents after she met my mom, who had come home to my home, just after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. Chloe stuck to her like glue, from the time she had arrived until she died a week later. I began training with Chloe to have her become a certified therapy dog. Since I am a Special Ed Teacher, Chloe began to work closely with the Autistic population and she was amazing! The foster from L4R called with a plea for me to take in another Lab, Drake, who had been so severely abused in his original home. He had been in two other home subsequently, but through no fault of the dog or the adopters, it just didn't work out. We took Drake in. He was afraid of everything. he wouldn't even walk upright or walk through doorways. He was afraid of brooms and loud noises and thought that every time we approached him, we were going to hurt him. Three years later, with Chloe's loving care, Drake is now a happy, normal family dog, Her loving acceptance and affection helped him along the way. They are so kind to each other. They share bones, beds, & toys. The foster from L4R was right, it was a match "made in heaven". Chloe is now fighting cancer from a grade three Mast Cell Tumor, She's presently having chemotherapy. Please pray for her.
