Chelsea and Charlie are a mama and baby that were surrendered to a high volume shelter. Chelsea has heartworm disease and is an adult pit bull, making her chances of making it out of the shelter alive even more slim than for many others. Charlie, who also is recovering from rickets, would have been adopted or rescued, but his mama may not have had the same fate. They were rescued, together, by Paws Crossroads Animal Rescue, Inc. and both look forward to a new leash on life. (Charlie has an approved adopter waiting when he is fully recovered - Chelsea is still in a loving foster home awaiting that perfect family.)
