Pet's Story
We adopted Twyla in November 2020 from Oliver’s House Rescue when she was 8 weeks old. As a German Shepard mix she has always been vocal right from the start, grumbling like an old man in my lap the car ride home the day we picked her up. As a puppy she was quite the handful, giving us a run for our money, requiring A LOT of help from trainers as we had never had a Shepard before. She was all teeth, and we thought we had brought home a land shark/alligator mix rather than a puppy. She is incredibly smart, and we are often in awe of her. She is athletic and is constantly in motion, requiring a lot continued training and work as she is a working dog down to her bones. She is rarely without a toy when she is inside the house, and knows exactly where to go to indicate to us where the chuck-it and chuck-it balls are kept when we go outside. She can be likened to a boomerang…one that comes back to you with a chuck-it ball ready for the next throw.
