Pet's Story
Almost exactly 8 years ago my family and I attended an event to search for a new dog, and there at the PAWS New England tent we met Charla. I knew when I saw her that we had to get her, she was just beautiful and had the best personality! We then found out she was 7 years old which took us by surprise because she just looked so young, and although that was a bit older than we were originally searching for we happily took her into our family. From then on Charla and I were inseparable. I didn’t realize a dog could love me that much or that I could love a dog as much as I loved Charla. Unfortunately, this past February Charla passed away from cancer at around 14 and a half years old. It was a very aggressive cancer that took her only 3 weeks after we first found the cancer, but we made sure those 3 weeks were the best they possibly could be. I was able to take her to work with me, we took her to a burger restaurant and she got her own bacon cheeseburger and fries, we took her for many pupaccinos from Starbucks, and we took her to her favorite nearby park a bunch. We were even able to let her pass peacefully at home with us. Charla was the best dog I could have ever asked for and I will always hold her with me in my heart.
