Bumper was a legend in the neighborhood. He topped the scales at 170 lbs probably from his Mountain Dog / Chocolate Lab genetics. He was even sponsored by Hills Dog Food for a weight loss trial. He lost 6 pounds. Despite baths and wading in the pool, Bumper had an odor that made the neighborhood kids pet him with a stick. He was known for picking up roadkill and making mom run to get him to drop it. Bumper could escape the fence and one time was found at the Macy's loading dock at the mall down the road but most of the time, the neighbors reported him wandering the cul-de-sac or he would be panting at the front door. Bumper loved all dogs, cats, and humans and despite his size, lived 13 years! He is greatly missed!
