During the summers I have the privilege of introducing pigeons to children. The interactions are precious. The children have the opportunity to have their picture taken with their favorite pigeon. The most fascinating aspect is how my aviary birds rise up to the occasion. For a little while they become people pigeons. Pictured here is Barney of the Fremont 10 (homeowner moved and abandoned their pigeons. Jill caught all of the remaining 10). He is far from people friendly but you would never know it when he is attending these events--my little Flash Gordon.
