We had to say goodbye to Wink this year. Pigeons are so very stoic; they sometimes mask illness and injury so well that you don’t know they’re hurting until it’s an end-stage condition. We did all we could with hopes she could be healed, but it was her time to fly over the rainbow bridge. Wink brought us so much joy in the eight years she was with us. The smallest bird in our aviary, she was the tiny boss of everything and everybirdy. She made us laugh every day.
