I walk a lot of piers, photographing marine wildlife. Feral pigeons always find their niches and nooks, sometimes nesting by the pilings, sometimes finding a single sunny spot away from the mayhem to warm up and preen. I found this pair on Huntington Beach pier, tucked along the railing at the very end. They were sharing the comfort of their coupling in the usual, sweet pigeon ways. I snapped some shots then left them to their private sanctuary above the Pacific.
