Cantaloupe is a King pigeon, bred for meat (squab) and found sick and exhausted in San Francisco, huddled with two other Kings in a similar condition. Cantaloupe was the only survivor. He was rescued and fostered by Palomacy folks and we were lucky enough to adopt him in 2019. He is an adored member of our family, along with his racing survivor mate, Paige.
