What's the story?
Nova is a young white homing pigeon and likely a “dove release" victim. She was only a few months old when she was spotted in a wooded median flanked by two active parking lots and a busy street, unsuccessfully attempting to assimilate into a flock of mourning doves. Each day, Nova would end up alone, searching for food, water, and cover from the sun. It took 12 hot summer days to catch her, but she is now safe, happy, and very loved by her family—which includes her pigeon wife, Pomme, and a rescued white German shepherd dog named Kasper.
