Gonzo was found in an overcrowded cage of “racing pigeons” at a feed store. Missing most of his lower beak, Gonzo was struggling to stay alive when a kind lady begged for Gonzo and brought him to Chicago Pigeon Pets Rescue. Gonzo was understandably wary of humans, but formed a strong bond with CPPR volunteer and adopter Christina as she sat with Gonzo for hours on end, holding a cup at just the right angle for Gonzo to finally be able to eat. Gonzo now lives happily with his wife Julia, and together they have raised 9 rescued foster babies!
