Bird(s)' Story
It was love at first coo for handsome Shimmy & beautiful Flora! Both are lucky survivors of pigeon racing who (smart birds that they are) truly know the meaning of the phrase "self rescue." Shimmy appeared at the back door of my work office, exhausted & hungry, & Flora crashed a picnic in the Steele family's backyard, looking for food & love (which the Steeles readily gave her LOTS of). Nick Steele contacted Elizabeth of Palomacy, who put him in touch with me. After we confirmed that Flora was a "she," I knew we had a remedy for Shimmy's lonely bachelor blues--& a forever home for sweet Flora. They're living happily ever after in our aviary with our other spunky rescue pigeon couple, Mr. Bird & Buddy.
