Bird(s)' Story
Gracie Cricket is a Homer pigeon who was bred to be used in the "dove release" business. Her parents & her grandparents were all white but even so, her genetics resulted in some black feathers. Unwanted by the breeder because of this coloring, she was cruelly "set free" at the age of only 3 weeks (usually breeders cull unwanted birds by killing or selling them). As a domestic pigeon (not to mention just a baby), she had no hope of surviving & was extremely lucky to be found by a kind person before a hungry predator. Palomacy took her into foster care & within a couple of weeks she was adopted by a great family. She is a wonderful & much beloved pet. Please help spread the word- "dove releases" are inhumane. #DoveReleasesKill
