Bird(s)' Story
Killer self-rescued onto my arm one day. He was unusual looking and very tame, so we started to feed him on our patio. After a lot of research we figured out that he was a ringneck dove and would not live long in the wild, so we built him an aviary on our back patio and decided to adopt him. We named him Killer because he survived 3 months in the wild outside our house, even wingboxing 3 Eurasions out of his territory. He's a tough one! After learning that ringneck doves are social birds, we soon adopted Friend to be his companion. Neither of us had ever considered having pet birds before, but Killer charmed us quickly...we are delighted he found us and that we could give Friend a loving home as well. They are both a joy.
