In 2016, Bandit made his debut at our home as an 8-month-old English Setter rescue pup. From months of neglect, his ribs showed through his thin coat. His stringy tail was stained yellow from his being left in a kennel sitting in his own urine. He was, as the saying goes, "sicker than a dog." After 2 years of sometimes nerve-wracking, checkbook-whacking veterinary tests and treatments, Bandit weighed in at a healthy 55 pounds and sported a full wavy coat, complete with an outstanding feathered white tail. He made it. Now 5 years old and against all odds, our Mr. B. (his stage name) has mastered his roles as Healthy Dog, Handsome Dog, Hilarious Dog, and Happy Dog. We are—and ever will be—his captive audience and biggest fans.
