Established in 2011, Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue is a no-kill volunteer run rescue dedicated to getting adoptable cats off the streets and into homes, and committed to helping manage feral cat colonies in the region.
At any given time, the organization has between 50 and 100 cats available for adoption. All of these cats reside in foster care, are assessed, vetted, and spayed or neutered, in preparation for their forever homes.
Understanding that some cats have been wild for too long and cannot be homed, the organization also feeds and monitors feral cat colonies throughout the National Capital Region. Colony cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated and released back into their colonies, healthier and unable to contribute to growing the population.
