Your Pet's Story or Bio
There's something about the first animal you work with in rescue. Shadow was our first and will forever be in our hearts. She taught us so much about the breed, about the unique needs of those rescued, and about our capacity for love. She paved the way for many more rescued Great Danes to become part of our family, and we'll forever be grateful to her. She loved treats, a red and green squeaky toy that would be in her mouth when she fell asleep, and snuggling in bed with us. She was a pro at rescue events and love all the children that came eye to eye with her large frame. She was one of the youngest Danes we've worked with so we got to have her with us longer - most of 10 years. She left us February 2, 2012 at age 12.
