Any additional information you would like to share about your photo/pet? (Optional)NW Ohio has lost many of its native species. From intense agriculture, to hunting and development, the biodiversity of the area has been greatly diminished. However, it's not all bad news. Some species, like the muskrat, are thriving in the area. This particular photo shows a juvenile muskrat at the Toledo Botanical Gardens, an urban setting where the work of the metroparks to rejuvenate the creek has created a healthy environment. It's a demonstration of the resilience of local wildlife, and a good sign for the future.
